High efficiency switch mode supply ensures minimal drain on flight pack. Push the LED indicator switch and the glow plug is lit for 15 seconds. LED lights to indicate glow. After 15 seconds the onboard glow driver (RCD3001) reverts to sleep mode. Each push of the button only supplies 15 seconds of power to the glow plug. More than sufficient to start the a glow engine. The use of high rate switch mode circuitry (500KHz) coupled with Ultra Low ESR components allows an efficiency rate of >90% to be achieved. Thereby minimising current drain on flight pack if used as on board glow. Mil spec engineering also ensure ultra low EMI operations. Glow head voltage is held at 1.4 Volts. Wet plug detect circuitry boosts current output to ensure consistent plug heat range. No danger of blowing those expensive glow plugs.
